1) Does it have a clear working ?
2) Does it seem to have solid evidence? (Remember, the evidence has to be specific facts or quotes, not an indication of where they will find it.)
3) Do the first and last sentences of each body paragraph make sense, and are you persuaded?
4) Can you tell what the plan of action is? Briefly, what is it? Remember, the plan of action has to be a form of protest, boycott, ad campaign, etc. The plan of action is not the problem you hope to change, but the method of collective action you will use to make the change happen (SNCC’s non-violent protest-driven actions would be an example).
Answer each question specifically. Do not just say yes or no. Instead, write a short paragraph of a few sentences for each question saying how you know or what is missing. You do not have to offer solutions—just note anything you think the writer should consider as they finish their essay.
