Identify and explain the origins of EU Law (primary and secondary) and
the sources of EU rights.
Identify which laws are directly effective
Identify when, where and against whom clients can enforce and defend
EU rights
Analyse fact patterns and recognise situations where:
EU Law overrides even conflicting national law through the principle
of direct effect;
National courts are required to apply EU Law if it is possible to do so
through the principle of indirect effect; and
claimants may rely on the principle of State liability
Explain in outline the nature, development and practical application of
general principles of EU Law.
