Analyse individual experiences and identify areas for improvement in practice.Demonstrate the application of engaging theory with practice.

Construction cost management

The aim of this task is to empower you to have ownership of your own professional development. This involves reflections on translating theory into practice and provides an opportunity for you to understand your own learning, as follows:

Demonstrate the application of engaging theory with practice.

Analyse individual experiences and identify areas for improvement in practice.

Evaluate professional competences through observation and evidence related to recognized professional skills framework.

Recognize personal strengths and successes as well as mistakes and weaknesses.

The full break down is given in the file below

Does the literature review contain critical evaluation of key texts and approaches? Does the literature review support and develop the research question and objectives?

Literature Review
Are current knowledge and perspectives developed through a review of published information? Is the range of sources adequate and appropriate? Does the literature review contain critical evaluation of key texts and approaches? Does the literature review support and develop the research question and objectives?
Research Design
Are the research design and methods clearly specified and justified in relation to the research question? Does the discussion demonstrate understanding of the research approach and methods adopted and are they appropriately applied?
References
Are all points which should be referenced, referenced? Are in-text citations properly and consistently formatted, using the Harvard style? Are all in-text citations included in the reference section? Is the reference section properly and consistently formatted?

Analyze the below scenario from Chapter 13 of the Whisenand textbook. You will then write and submit a memorandum, using the document template attached for content and format.

problem anyalysis and response memo

You will analyze the below scenario from Chapter 13 of the Whisenand textbook. You will then write and submit a memorandum, using the document template attached for content and format.

Scenario:

A local restaurant/bar in your area started featuring live amateur rock bands on weekends and the bands draw large crowds of young people.

Over the past two months, noise complaints have tripled in the area; citizens have called in and mailed in complaints of excessive trash, drunken bar patrons urinating in their yards, drug use in the area, fights in the street, speeding vehicles, and an increase in property damage. Drunken driving arrests have increased and have been linked to the bar. Also, two of the band’s staff members were arrested for possession of firearms.

The restaurant owner has ample security/bouncers and has done all he can do to mitigate problems, but he is making a lot of money and is in compliance with all the city’s requirements in terms of zoning, permits, business license, and so on. As a police manager, what steps would you take using the COP/POP philosophy to ensure this problem was solved?

Scenario two home Sweet home Several large shelters for the homelss

Provide context. Describe the people or relationship and its issues.Apply the theory to the problem. How does the theory explain the relationship? Does the theory provide ideas for relationship improvement?

Final Chapter 9

Literature is reviewed by topic (not by author) and focuses on explaining the theoryThis section of your paper should introduce/describe your theory

Organize your lit review by topics (not authors/ articles)Do your best to explain the theory & describe how new research has expanded the theoryLink the theory/theoretical concepts and your context. In other words, how is this theory relevant to the context/problem you will discuss?Application section is clear (not stream-of-consciousness) writing

Describe an organizational change you’ve experienced. Discuss the impact of the change on you. Was the change handled well? Was it handled poorly? What lessons did you learn, and what would you do if you were spearheading such a change?

Change Gone Well Change Gone Bad

In your career, you have no doubt experienced organizational change.

You may have undergone layoffs, reorgs, seating plan overhauls, new leadership, new policies, new software, company name and logo changes, revisions to mission and vision, and so forth.

You probably have some opinions on how these changes were handled. You might have felt like a passive vessel buffeted by fate, or you might have seen yourself as an informed participant or even co-creator of the change.

Describe an organizational change you’ve experienced. Discuss the impact of the change on you. Was the change handled well? Was it handled poorly? What lessons did you learn, and what would you do if you were spearheading such a change?

If a communications professional was not involved, what role could he or she have played? Reflecting on triumphs and disasters past will help you as you work through your communications plan.

Identify each component of the surface hydrology budget and mention their importance. Then, briefly discuss how these factors conspired to create the ‘Dust Bowl.’

Chapter 6 Theory Coordinated Management of Meaning

ANSWER IN PARAGRAPH FORM

Discuss how each of the three Milankovitch factors can work together to cause an ice age.
Feedback – lower tilt leads to cooler summers, which limit the amount of ice melt.

Briefly define the Bowen Ratio. Then, discuss whether a desert location has a high or low Bowen Ratio, and explain why.
Feedback – deserts have a high bowen ratio

Select one natural factor that alters the surface radiation budget:

a) Briefly explain how it works

b) Describe how it influenced one historical temperature fluctuation (e.g., Little Ice Age)
Feedback – not specific to what we learned in class
– Sensible heating can be spoken about

Identify each component of the surface hydrology budget and mention their importance. Then, briefly discuss how these factors conspired to create the ‘Dust Bowl.’

Feedback – there are some details missing on soil moisture especially, and also the dust bowl discussion is not specific to what we discussed in class)

Describe your research method using the appropriate terms such as experiment or survey (questionnaire or interview). Also explain why this type of method is being used (i.e., why the specific method is appropriate for this topic in terms of why exploratory or descriptive research is more appropriate than correlational or experimental – or vice-versa.

Module 4: Methods

50 POINTS

Total pages: 2-3

Your paper should build upon your literature review. Specifically, you will describe how you will test the hypothesis proposed in the second paper. Your paper should have all of the sections described herein.

Method Description:

Describe your research method using the appropriate terms such as experiment or survey (questionnaire or interview). Also explain why this type of method is being used (i.e., why the specific method is appropriate for this topic in terms of why exploratory or descriptive research is more appropriate than correlational or experimental – or vice-versa. You must use a quantitative method for this project.  make sure to write in future tense as you will not actually conduct the study.

Procedures

Participants. The section describes, in detail, how the participants will be sampled, the characteristics of the sample which will be relevant to the study, the desired size of the sample, and a logical rationale that justifies this sample choice and size.

Procedures. Include your description of how your research will proceed (remember- we may want to actually conduct this study).

Discuss where your participants will be studied, what will happen to them when they immediately arrive, the instructions you will give participants, etc.

Describe how the data will be gathered, including specific procedures to be followed.

Provide a brief rationale for why these procedures and measures are appropriate for the study, including how reliability and validity will be determined.

Instrumentation

Describe how you will operationalize the independent and dependent variables. That is, explain how the variables will be observed, measured, and/or manipulated in relation to all questionnaires, physical observations, and any other applicable measures.

You must use pre-existing measures or procedures. If the instruments that you will use have been previously validated, report that information here, long with the reliability coefficient that other researchers have found that instrument to have.

Be sure to include examples here. If you are using any kind of instrument (if you are doing a survey), include the instrument in the appendix (at the end of the paper). If the actual instrument has not been published, then include the examples of the items that other researchers have described when they used that instrument.

If you are using a pre-existing procedure (doing an experiment) then please thoroughly explain the experiment.

Limitations and Conclusion

Discuss some potential threats to internal and external validity, and these threats will be (a) thwarted by your procedures, or (b) may impact the conclusions. It should not be difficult to be specific and accurate here, since your book discusses all of these issues in chapters that we have read. Conclude with a brief summary of your report.

References (add any new articles used in your methods paper)

Appendix

Include all relevant study materials here. This could include survey instruments, experimental manipulation, coding sheets, etc.
