Write a poem emulating one of the authors from the assigned readings. Select one of the three options below:

Write a poem about a storm or other form of extreme weather. It may be a simple rainstorm, or a raging hurricane. It may even be a tornado, earthquake, sandstorm, or other unusual weather system. Use at least 1 image and 1 onomatopoeic sound in your poem.
Here are some additional ideas if you are having trouble getting started:
1. An expressionist poem in which the storm is actually in the speaker’s head.

What event you focus on is entirely up to you, but an assignment of this type works best if you can show a change in your “self” character from start to finish or show that you’ve experienced a new insight or learned something about yourself.
