3. Does your paper include references to the articles we discussed in the first1/3 of the class about historical thinking and teaching skills?

We are learning and observing classes during remote instruction. While we cannot ignore this fact, we should not make that the main focus of our ideas about teaching. As the three presenters at the Teacher Symposium indicated, methods and assignments might change, but the focus on student engagement, teaching writing and teaching content have not changed.

4. Does your paper have a title that indicates something about your argument?

What were the major challenges facing the newly emerging nations in the postwar period? How did different nations respond to those challenges? Why did the communist regimes collapse in the Soviet Union and eastern Europe, but not in China?

Answer the following 2 questions

1.What were the major challenges facing the newly emerging nations in the postwar period? How did different nations respond to those challenges?

2.Why did the communist regimes collapse in the Soviet Union and eastern Europe, but not in China?

Respond to the following 2 posts from my classmates
1. The spread of communism was the primary challenge. The Soviet Union wanted it to spread to many especially to the European countries. The United States did not want this to happen and they responded by trying to reduce or eliminate this by creating Marshall Plan. Also the destruction of things such as cities, roads, and railways were rebuilt and help to stimulate the economy again. The US was also dealing with the Soviet Cuban Missiles building sites, which if deployed would destroy most of Eastern United States. President Kennedy gave a firm command for them to stand down and they did. Also, independence was a challenge to many nations post war. They struggled with independence economic and political.

2.A number of events and uprisings in 1980 are led to the collapse of the Soviet Union. … Last, in the Soviet Union, the failed August Coup in 1991 led to the end of the Communist Party in USSR. All of these events led to the end of communism and the making of a democratic Russia. Within a year, the Soviet Union had ceased to exist. While it is, for all practical purposes, impossible to pinpoint a single cause for an event as complex and far-reaching as the dissolution of a global superpower, a number of internal and external factors were certainly at play in the collapse of the U.S.S.R.

Explain how a relatively small number of Mongols come to create the world’s largest land empire. Second, think about Part 3 of your book (which includes Chapters 7-12): All of Part 3 deals with increasing interactions between civilizations as trade and commerce expanded, and about how the cultures of the world were changed because of this. So then, why is there a chapter about the Mongols in this section of the book? (Or put another way – describe the role the Mongols played in creating a more interconnected world).

World History Final

1. For the period 600 BCE to 1200 CE, compare and contrast the societies of Africa with the societies of the Americas. (This can be done by selecting several points of comparison, and then using just one or two societies from Africa and one or two from the Americas as examples to illustrate your points).

2. Compare and contrast the society and culture of the Islamic Civilization and Christian Civilization (“Christendom”) during the period of time Strayer calls the “Third Wave” of civilization, and what is also sometimes called the “Middle Ages” (approximately 600-1450 CE at its broadest). note, this is not asking you to compare the religious beliefs of the religions of Islam and Christianity, but rather to focus on the broader society and culture of these two civilizations.

3. All of these chapters in Part 3 of your texbook talk about the impact of increasing connection between civilizations (whether through trade, exploration, or conquest) on cultures (including religions). What do you feel were the three most important cultural impacts of these growing connections, and why did you pick those?
