In your study of US History you’ve encountered many stories of soldiers in many settings. Vietnam has always been described as different than any of the other American wars that preceded it. Using O’Brien’s book and your textbook and lectures, discuss the character of the Vietnam War.
Describe the conflicts within the army itself, from the common soldiers (racial difficulties, officers vs. enlisted men, etc) to the differences between civilian and military leadership.
Also discuss the treatment of noncombatants. Make an argument as to whether this war was different from all other American wars. In addition, answer and defend this question. Was this war winnable? Why or why not?

History 6– Your topics are Native American tribes. Some of them cross into Canada and you can talk about their history. You can break the work up in whatever way you want. The final result should be one 7-to-8-page paper where you discuss history of these tribes, their famous leaders, their location, any famous wars and/or treaties. You can discuss their historical customs, foods, and religious ceremonies. What did they do to survive? What kind of housing? Each native tribe has its own website and that is a primary document. Check to see what the national archives has on the tribe also or their treaties. A bulk of your information should be before the 1900s The documents are primary sources as well.
European colonialism is often depicted as a force of greed that exploited the African people for financial gain; however, some have also argued that colonialism served a moral purpose and was mutually beneficial to both parties.
How could one argue this second viewpoint, and do you agree that the benefits brought by Europeans outweighed the negative effects? Why or why not?
