What will be he Bayesian equilibrium of the game?If the principal cannot observe the effort level of the agent, what will be ? And what will be the effort level of the agent in that case? What will be the profit of the principal?

Math/Physic/Economic/Statistic Problems

There are two effort level for the agent and they are . For the agent the cost for high effort is 500 and the cost for low effort is 0. The reservation utility for the agent is 500. When the agent is working for the principal, there can be three levels of profit and they are . The principal is risk neutral and the agent is risk averse. The agent’s utility from the wage, w, would be . The agent’s total utility would be where . When the effort level is high the probabilities that each result would happen are . When the effort level is low they are .

In the ideal case where the principal can observe the effort level of the agent, what will be the wage system like? In other words, what will be ?
If the principal cannot observe the effort level of the agent, what will be ? And what will be the effort level of the agent in that case? What will be the profit of the principal?

Eric is an owner of a big firm and James applied for that firm. If James is smart, he will make $10 for Eric and Eric will pay him $7 (so that Eric’s profit from James will be $3). If James is not-smart, he will make $4 for Eric and Eric will pay him $3 (so that Eric’s profit from James will be $1). The probability that James is smart is 1/2. Actually, Eric does not know if James is smart or not and he will pay the average wage ($7+$3)/2=$5 and the expected profit for Eric would be $7-$5=$2. Then, professor Hahn opened a “Useless University (=ULU)” and he gives a degree only to the students who pass his difficult examination.

In order to pass the examination, the students should take professor Hahn’s class and the tuition is $1 per month. If the student is smart, it takes only 1 month for him to pass the exam. On the other hand, if the student is not-smart, it takes 5 months to pass the exam. We will assume that Eric can check if James passes the exam or not, but Eric cannot check how many months James took professor Hahn’s class. Find out two Perfect Bayesian equilibria of this game, one separating and one pooling.

Two players play the following game for infinite times.
Cooperate Betray
Cooperate 10, 20 -25, 30
Betray 15, -23 -12, -19
For the player to continue to cooperate what would be the ranges of their discount factor, , respectively?

(professor – TA game) Professor Hahn can give a TA scholarship to Gong Yi for maximum 2 years. At the beginning of each year professor Hahn decides whether he will give a scholarship to Gong Yi or not. Gong Yi can get a scholarship in t=2, only if he gets it in t=1. Basically, professor Hahn and Gong Yi will play the following game twice.

Prof. Hahn

No scholarship Give scholarship

TA Gong Yi

(0,0) Work Don’t work

(3,X) (-2,3)

Gong Yi can be a Hard working type with probably 0.3 and can be a Lazy type with probability 0.7 Professor Hahn does not know Gong Yi’s type. If Gong Yi is hard working, it will be X=5 and Gong Yi will always work if he gets a scholarship. If Gong Yi is lazy, it will be X= 1. There is no time discount for t=2.
Find out a Perfect Bayesian Equilibrium of the game.

Keat and Sunday are neighbors. They want to live in a clean environment and want their street to be clean. The utility from the clean street is same for both at 10 if only one person clean it and the utility will be same for both at 12 if both people clean it. The problem is someone has to clean the street in order to have a clean street and cleaning the street is a public good. Keat’s cost of cleaning the street is ch and Sunday’s cost is cj. Both ch and cj can have two values, either 5 or 12. The probability that the cost will be 5 is 3/4.

The payoffs will be as the following table.

Sunday
Clean Don’t
Keat Clean 12- ch, 12- cj 10- ch,10
Don’t 10, 10- cj 0,0

Find three Bayesian equilibria of the game.

Consider a duopoly with a Cournot competition. The demand of the market is Q=2-p. Both firm 1 and firm 2’s marginal costs can take two values. For firm 1 it can be MC=5/4 with probability 1/3 and MC=3/4 with probability 2/3. For firm 2 it can be MC=5/4 with probability 2/3 and MC=3/4 with probability 1/3. Each firm knows its own MC but does not know the MC of the other firm. (But the probabilities are known to everyone.) What will be he Bayesian equilibrium of the game?

What are the experiences from the client’s development (birth to the present) that influence the development of the presenting concerns? What are the developmental factors that promote the client’s maladaptive functioning patterns?

5-2 Final Project I Draft Two: Developmental Influences and Promoters

Specifically the following critical elements must be addressed:
I. Developmental Influences: Identify developmental influences that is presented in the information collected. Using the empirically supported
information from scholarly resources related to the pressing problem and the data from the assessments, answer the following:
A. What are the experiences from the client’s development (birth to the present) that influence the development of the presenting concerns?

B. What are the developmental factors that promote the client’s maladaptive functioning patterns?

C. What are the developmental factors that promote the client’s adaptive functioning patterns?

II. Promoters: Identify promoters that are presented in the information collected. Using the empirically supported information from scholarly resources
related to the pressing problem and the data from the assessments, consider the following:
A. What are the present experiences (onset to present) that influence the maintenance of the presenting concerns?

B. What are the present factors that promote the client’s maladaptive functioning patterns?

C. What are the present factors that promote the client’s adaptive functioning patterns?

Evaluation Methods for Quality Initiative for EMTALA Complaints

Hospital A’s chief financial officer (CFO) is concerned that there are two ongoing EMTALA investigations by the State Department of Health against Hospital A for two inappropriate patient transfers in the last two weeks.

As part of its ongoing investigation, the State Department of Health has noted was that there was a failure to conduct a basic medical screening examination/stabilization for each of the patients when in the emergency department of Hospital A. Sanctions against Hospital A are pending.

Complaints were originally filed by Hospital B (the receiving hospital) against Hospital A for inappropriate transfer of two patients to Hospital B. This situation is more commonly known as “patient dumping.” Both patients were over age 60, lacked insurance, and had a history of heart failure. The two inappropriate transfers were by the same emergency physician.

Hospital A’s leadership has identified a quality improvement plan with four initiatives related to EMTALA that they want to implement.

Multi-faceted quality improvement strategies to avoid EMTALA complaints, investigations, and sanctions:

Require education on EMTALA for all current and new employees at the hospital. Commence with immediate education and then require annual EMTALA updates.

Conduct a peer review of records for provider in the two complaints.

Review contextual factors, such as whether the hospital was on diversion status, at time of the events.

Review patient throughput through processes and provider staffing at the time of the incidents.

In your initial post, address the following:

Discuss whether you think the recent incidents were EMTALA violations.

Create evaluation methods for two out of the four initiatives of the quality improvement plan related to EMTALA. You should identify and describe any metrics that will be needed in your evaluation methods.

Global Business Benchmark – Executive Summary

Based on the Effect of Emerging Technology on the Economy of the Country assignment you completed in Topic 3, provide an executive summary (350-500 words) to recommend how the emerging technology could solve a problem in China.

Provide research and evidence that supports your summary. Use the following format:

Provide an overview of what you are recommending to an executive at an organization.

Identify the Problem

Describe the problem and its impact within the chosen country.

Describe an emerging technology (global or country-specific) that could be implemented to solve the problem.

Identify an organization that offers the emerging technology to solve the problem.

What Is Needed to Implement the Solution

Highlight potential obstacles based on economic, legal, and cultural factors within the country. For example, what the solution costs, return on investment, legal compliance, competition, market entry barriers, cultural customs and values, and available resources.

Identify a local business partner within China that could help the organization advance the proposed emerging technology.

General Requirements

In-text citations are not required, but references should appear in an addendum to the executive summary.

While APA style is not required for the body of this assessment, solid academic writing is expected, and documentation of sources should be presented using APA formatting guidelines, which can be found in the APA Style Guide, located in the Student Success Center.

Math/Physic/Economic/Statistic Problems

Write a small report about the assignments listed below (could be hand-written, could
be typewritten). Add the computer scripts as an appendix. The answer to assignment 1 is
always a picture.

1. The logistic map

Write a computer program (in Matlab) to reproduce the following figures from Chap-
ter 2 of the Lecture Notes:

(a) Figure 2.2: Draw the iterates f (x), f 2(x), . . . for λ = 0.683 and λ = 0.809
for an arbitrary initial value of x ∈ [0, 1]. Verify that the reached asymptotic
states are very different for the two figures. To get you started, the matlab code
(LOGISTIC map.m) is provided. In fact, you must now put in code what you
have already done on paper during last week’s lecture.

(b) Figure 2.4 and figure 2.6: Show repeated iterations of the function f (x) =
4λx(1 −x) where the value of λ is increased step by step. At each λ you can
start with an arbitrary value of x, N (many) times to let transients die, and then
iterate N times while drawing them. Already read the next question; it is about
the “many” times.

(c) Say “something” about the following: Near a bifurcation value λn it takes forever
(∞long) for iterates to reach the asymptotic state. To be more precise, the time

T (that is, number of iterates) diverges as T ∝|λ −λn|−1/2. Can you argue this
dependence ? (Of course, it must be related to the quadratic nonlinearity).
(d) Figure 2.7 and 2.8: Plot f 2n

(λn, x) for the given n and λ in the Lecture notes
to reproduce the sequence of the limit functions gr(x). The key point is that
these figures should be the same (around x = 1/2) up to rescaling. Rescaling
means enlarging horizontal and vertical axies of your figure. From this (that
is trying…), estimate the universal number α. In fact, this is exactly what th
renormalization argument does for you.

(e) Figure 2.12: Show the evolution of the spectrum via period doublings for n = 3,
n = 4 and n = 12. For figure (d) set the non-linearity parameter λ just beyond
λ∞ = 0.8924 . . ..

About spectra. You feed a time series of iterates I[i], i = 1, . . . , N to MAT-
LAB’s FFT function. The function provides two arrays, the real part Re[i]
of the Fourier transform, and the imaginary part Im[i]. Actually, your initial
times series is overwritten by the real part. Due to Nyquist, only Re[i], Im[i], i =

1, . . . , N/2 makes sense. For this assignment you plot the modulus of the Fourier
transfom, (Re[i]2 + Im[i]2)1/2. Of course, most of this you already knew.
2. An experiment

The picture below is the first claim to see the universal route to period doublings in
an experiment. This is a heat convection experiment, with the (reduced) Rayleigh
number R/Rc as nonlinearity parameter. (Convection first happened at Rc).
see: A. Libchaber, C. Laroche and S. Fauve, J. Physique, 43, L-211 (1982).

(a) From the (reduced) Raleigh numbers in pictures (B, C), make a prediction for
the Rayleigh number R/Rc of picture D. Discuss why this does not work equally
well for predicting the Rayleigh number R/Rc in picture C from those in A, B.

(b) The universal constant α is related to the amplitude of the subharmonics. The
scaling of the subharmonics in the spectrum is a mixture of α and α2, as in the
following expression
μ = 1
4
(
2α−2 + 2α−4)1/2
.
Think about the quadratic map, and explain why this is a mixture α and α2
(and ignore the numerical prefactors).

With α = 2.5029 . . ., the value μ = 0.15211 . . .. In power spectra, a decibel is
20 log10 A, where A is the amplitude ratio. Is this consistent with the observed
spectra ?
3. Numerics of superstable cycles

Let λn denote the value of λ at which the logistic map, f (x, λ) = λx(1 −x) has a
superstable cycle of period 2n.

(a) Write an implicit but exact formula for λn in terms of the point x = 1
2 and the
function f (x, λ) = λx(1 −x). (You will find lots of inspiration in the lecture
notes, if not this very equation).

(b) Using a computer and the result of part (a), find λ2, λ3, …, λ7 to three significant
digits. Hint: formulate the problem as one where you have to find the zero of a
function. Alternatively, you could make pictures, zoom in, and find those zeros
by hand.

(c) Evaluate (λ3 −λ2)/(λ4 −λ3). This will approximate the other universal con-
stant of the period-doubling route to chaos. The problem is that success of this
assignment depends a little on success of the previous one. If necessary, you
could revert to (λ2 −λ1)/(λ3 −λ2). Be practical, this you would typically face
in an experiment

Where you now and what opportunities or threats will aid or impede your progress towards your goals? How will you utilize your opportunities and deal with threats to succeed in your professional growth. What skills or educational requirements are needed to get you where you want to go?

Transition to Professional Nursing Practice.

Part 1 – Goals for Transition to Professional Nursing Practice.

In this section, you will write a 2-3 page paper in which you will identify your professional strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. You will also develop professional goals.

Developing a plan for your future career goals will layout the clinical and educational resources you need to be prepared for opportunities when they arise. In order to focus your goals, you will be utilizing two of the eight areas of Miller’s Wheel of Professionalism.

Write an outline of your goals, they can be clinical, educational, or both. What are your strengths, weaknesses, and current assets? Where you now and what opportunities or threats will aid or impede your progress towards your goals? How will you utilize your opportunities and deal with threats to succeed in your professional growth.

Where you now and what opportunities or threats will aid or impede your progress towards your goals? How will you utilize your opportunities and deal with threats to succeed in your professional growth. What skills or educational requirements are needed to get you where you want to go?

State how you will accomplish these goals. What resources do you need to attain each step and how will those resources be attained. Resources may be funding sources, time resources, and/or commitments from your employer or family and friends.

Develop a time frame. How will you accomplish your goals in 3 or 5 years? How will you stay on track? You may decide you want deadlines for the completion of a phase of your professional development plan, or deadlines for the beginning of each step. However you set up the timeline, it is one of the most critical parts for keeping on track.
