Diversity in Counseling, uniqueness of each group
The career counselor needs to have an understanding and awareness of the effect of diversity factors, such as multigenerational career patterns, gender, race, and ethnicity, cultures, and social economic backgrounds, on one’s access and perceptions to career opportunities and life style development.
Choose a diverse client population. Provide an explanation on what makes this group unique and how those factors affect the career counseling process.
Identify the best practices for this chosen population, explaining the career counseling process and techniques that will meet their specific needs. Provide a list of resources that could be used for the counseling process.
