MARKETING AND CONSUMPTION

• A detailed description of what your product and how it will work.
• What specific features and benefits your product provides to the intended target market.
• A description of the aesthetics, packaging, labelling, or look, of your product.
Ensure that you have adequately described your product so that by the time your product description is written, the reader understands what you want to bring to market.
The requirements below must be met for your paper to be accepted and graded:
• Write between 750 – 1,250 words (approximately 3 – 5 pages) using Microsoft Word in APA style, see example below.
• Use font size 12 and 1” margins.
• Include cover page and reference page.
• At least 80% of your paper must be original content/writing.
• No more than 20% of your content/information may come from references.
• Use at least three references from outside the course material, one reference must be from EBSCO host. Text book, lectures, and other materials in the course may be used, but are not counted toward the three reference requirement.

Did Alex Clark initially fund the business with equity or debt?
Initially, Clark’s chocolate business is very small. Compared to publicly traded companies, would Clark’s required rate of return on equity be higher or lower than the “average” required rate of return on equity for small cap companies of 15%? Explain your answer.
After the business was established, Clark talked about buying a building to expand. This is a good example of an investment project that a business must evaluate. Would the required rate of return for Clark’s building purchase be higher or lower than the overall chocolate company’s required rate of return? Explain your answer.
Should Clark use some bank debt to finance all or a portion of the building purchase?
Justify your answer by explaining how the weighted average cost of capital for the company would change if Clark uses bank debt to finance all or a portion of the building purchase.
What is the primary risk that Clark faces if she uses debt to finance the entire building purchase? For purposes of this discussion, assume that the debt would then comprise 95% of the company’s capital structure.
Determine the NPV for the Electrobicycle project
Determine the NPV for the Electrobicycle project. Use the annual project cash flow from the table above. For the required rate of return, use the percent value from your birthday date. For example, if your birthday falls on the 16th of the month, the required rate of return would be 16%.
For guidance, review Section 7.1 of the textbook, NPV Example: The Pizza Scooter Delivery Project Revisited.
Calculate the NPV of the Electrobicycle project. Be sure to show your NPV calculations.
Explain, in your own words, why working capital investments are subtracted each year in the cash flows.
Explain, in your own words, the meaning of the required rate of return for the project.
Assume the auto company has a required rate of return of 15%. Based on the required rate of return you used for the Electrobicycles (based on your birthday date), is the Electrobicycle project more or less risky than the auto company? Explain your answer.
Based on your concluded NPV, should the company invest in this project to build Electrobicycles? Justify your answer.

2. What challenges do you foresee in achieving this initiative? What is the benefit of this initiative to achieve a reduction in opioid overdoses (the objective of the policy)?

Artist’s life
For this project, students will research any Artist of their choice from the 1700s to the present. You will identify a specific idea that you want to focus on for this artist. Remember, this is not a ‘Biography’ paper – there needs to be a focus beyond just details of the Artist’s life and art. Make sure you are clearly identifying your theme in this proposal.
Write a draft introduction paragraph for your final paper that tells the reader what the paper is about (i.e. introduce your theme). Remember this is not a biography paper, so your introduction should go beyond “we will explore the art and life of X X artist.” What is the angle, or the major idea bout the artist (or artwork) that you are exploring?
Your introduction should be no less than four complete statements, but will likely be more than this.
Finally, you should list at three of the sources you plan to use to write your final paper.
These should be listed in APA format. Remember that Wikipedia it not a scholarly source – so do not include that
Ed Ed video on Joseph Campbell’s definition of a hero
1). Watch this short Ted Ed video on Joseph Campbell’s definition of a hero: . Though it’s a little reductive and doesn’t work in every way, use the video to discuss how Gilgamesh satisfies most of Campbell’s characteristics for a classic hero in Western culture. Refer to the video as you want, but don’t worry about direct quotes or citations or a Works Cited page. Just refer to it freely.
2). Explain how The Odyssey is an expression of ancient Greek values.
3). Explain how Oedipus the King could be read as Sophocles’ response to the Sophists.
4). Choose Medea and/or Odysseus and think of how each of them could be criticized for “bad behavior” by modern readers. In what ways could an understanding of some of the ancient world’s obsessions help lessen some of the criticisms a modern reader might have toward one or both of these characters?
